Resumo: The aim of research is to analyze the citation and collaboration indicators applied to the scientific production of Graduate Programs in the area of Animal Science with the concept of international excellence in the 2007-2009 triennium, contributing to improving the assessment of Brazilian graduate courses. More specifically, the objective is to identify the impact and visibility of scientific production of these programs, through the analysis of citations received by articles published in journals with Qualis A1 and A2, and investigate the contribution of two citation indicators for analyzing the scientific impact of graduate programs: h-index and Impact Factor (IF). Still, the objective is to describe and analyze the scientific collaboration network, both nationally and internationally these programs through co-authorship analysis, identifying the institutions and countries that cooperated with the production of new knowledge in these programs during the study period. The scientific production were collected in books of indicators provided by CAPES, the quotations from the base SCOPUS, and co-authorship collected in the first pages of articles. For construction of scientific collaboration networks, was used the software Pajek 2.00. Applied the Pearson correlation between the indicators studied. As a result, it was found that the index h and the Impact Factor (IF) are important indicators in the qualitative evaluation of Brazilian graduate programs, because they describe different attributes of scientific programs analyzed. It was also observed that the programs relate with main institutions and countries that produce new knowledge in the field of Animal Science. The application of the Pearson correlation between the indicators revealed that the Impact Factor of the journal (visibility) can influence the number of citations (therefore in the impact)...
