Resumo: In recent years, soy has been the subject a lot of studies due to increased consumption of their products, however there is still no consensus on the actual properties of this food. Soybeans are a rich legume protein, a source of calcium and isoflavones. One of the possible effects of isoflavones is to reduce bone loss at menopause. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of diet supplemented with (SES) in bone mass in young rats. 16 rats Novergicus Albinus Wistar strain, male, young and healthy were used. Randomly separated into two groups, control (GC), which remained for 11 weeks in common cage receiving 500 ml of water and 300 g of feed daily, and the second group supplemented (GS), that was offered in addition to water and feed 500ml of milk to soy. During the experimental period, feed intake and intake of liquids were measured as well as the mass of animals.
