Resumo: | The mineral activity to extract soil and sediment material to build and construct has become an important source of environmental impact. In the 60's, the beginning of IlhaSolteira Power Station building era, there were not environmental norms to prevent or guide what would be done with those borrow sites after the construction had finished, resulting in several degraded areas. The construction of IlhaSolteira Power Station in Selviria city MS and others ancillary working areas generated more borrow sites: in the actual urban area and its surroundings' also in the rural areas. There by, this actual research appears with the aim to compare and assess three different ways of digital image process done by Sistema de Processamento de Informações Georreferenciadas (SPRING) for more effective tools in the future studies of borrow sites based in the degradation identification by remote sensing methods. The analyzed methods are: traditional overseen image through Maximum Likelihood Estimation classified by pixels, the traditional classification by area i.e. Isoseg and the Harmonic Linear Spectral Prediction. The images used were taken from sensor CCD e HRC and satellite CBERS-2B. As a result, different classification from images were obtained, allowing the assessment for each method of classification for this purpose, moreover allowing suggestions for appropriate methods for future studies concerning borrow sites, based in satellite images |
