Resumo: |
The evaluation of soil quality is an important tool to monitor the degradation as well as planning the deployment of sustainable practices of management. The aim of this work was to define physical and chemical attributes of soil to determine soil quality and validate a model of index of soil quality, in Oxisols with sugar cane production and native forest. The study was carried out in the municipalities of Araras, Santa Ernestina and Guariba in the state of Sao Paulo. Twenty-four samples were collected from soil disturbed and undisturbed in the 0.0-0.10 m, in three areas cultivated with sugar cane and adjacent native forest. We evaluated the following attributes of the soil: (a) chemical - pH (in CaCl2), organic matter (OM), phosphorus (P), potassium (K+ ), calcium (Ca2+ ), magnesium (Mg2+ ), potential acidity (H+Al), aluminum (Al3+) and sulfur (S); (b) physical: macro, microporosity, soil bulk density (Ds), aggregate stability, diameter weighted average (DMP), global erodibility (K), in rill erodibility (Kr), interrill erodibility (Ki) , critical shear stress (c) and magnetic susceptibility (MS). The data were submitted to statistical analysis multivariate in order to check the similarities and/or differences in the areas studied with different textural gradient and to identify the attributes indicators of soil quality as well as the determination of their values in functions to determine the index of soil quality (ISQ).The study showed that the multivariate analysis by the method of the scree-plot was efficient to determine the physical and chemicals attributes that were more sensitive to discriminate between the evaluated areas being them, total sand, magnetic susceptibility, clay, microporosity, magnesium, calcium, pH and organic matter and that the area with the highest clay content had the best quality of soil when compared with reference values of native forest while there were no differences between the areas as compared ... |
