Resumo: The aim of this research was to evaluate the growth of bell pepper in coconut fiber in relation with the N and K concentrations of nutrient solution fertigated without drainage. The experiment was conducted from 9th November 2012 to 19th July 2013, in a greenhouse located at Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias (FCAV) of Universidade Estadual Paulista “Julio de Mesquita Filho” (UNESP) in the city of Jaboticabal, SP, which is situated at 21º14'40 South, 48º17'12 West and at 549 meters altitude. The experimental design was the randomized blocks, using a 4 x 4 factorial scheme with three replications. The treatments presented a combination of four N and K concentrations (6, 9, 12 and 15 mmol L-1 and 3, 5, 7 and 9 mmol L-1 for N and K respectively) in the nutrition solution in a way that it did not drain. The hybrid Eppo was cultivated in spaces of 1.25 x 0.4 m. We measured pH, conductivity (CE) and the concentrations of nitrate and potassium of the substrate in the days 88, 155 and 252 after planting (DAP); the nutrient concentrations in leaf diagnosis in the 88 DAP; the number of leaves and plant height in the 70, 141 and 235 DAP. We also evaluated the final dry matter accumulation and the macronutrients in the shoot; the marketable fruit production and its components; the unmarketable fruit production; the thickness, soluble solids and pH of fruit pulp. Not draining the nutrition solution the CE of the substrate increased above the proper limit to the pepper cultivation of 1.5 dS m-1. The limit mentioned was hit between the 88 and 155 DAP, regarding the higher concentrations of N and K of the nutrition solution. The most adequate concentrations of N and K during the cycle to obtain the maximum productivity of marketable fruits are 10.5 and 3 mmol L-1, respectively. The variation of concentrations of nutrients in the nutrition solution, related to the adaptations of the chemical features in the substrate during ...
