Resumo: |
The biocompatibility of four luting agents was evaluated in rats subcutaneous connective tissue implants. Polyethylene lubes filled with the luting agents were surgically implanted into the dorsal subcutaneous tissue of rats. The tube was left implanted for periods of 14, 30, 60 and 84 days, following wich the animals were killed and the implants, together with the surrounding tissue, were excised. The specimens were then fixed in 10 per cent formalin, sectioned serially and stained with hematoxylin and eosin and then, examined by light microspic . The results showed that all the luting caused an tissue answer in the appraised periods; the phosphate of zinc cement presented a smaller degree of tissue reaction in the periods of 14, 30 and days; the of glass ionomer cement presented the worst characteristics of biocompatibility when in contact with the conjunctive tissue in rats |
