The memory is associated with the action of remembering and forgetting and is a field that involves disputes and conflicts. It is structured by different reference points: events, people/characters and places to complement the memory and that the events are not forgotten. There is a relationship between memory and the institutions that produce and accumulate documents. Resource centers are present in various scenarios and areas of knowledge, work with specialized information and documents contained therein have to inform function. Through this work we seek to answer the following research problem: as the Center for Documentation and Memory Pe. Antão Jorge and those present documents contribute to the construction of memory? The research is qualitative in nature, characterized as exploratory, which applied method is the case study. The research base consists of the Documentation Center and Memory Pe. Antão Jorge and these documents, located in the city of Aparecida, State of São Paulo. With result of this work, we understand that the CDM has a lot of documents that has a history of almost 300 years, it lets us know the city of Aparecida, the Santuário National and devotion to Our Lady of Aparecida, is related to the identity of idea, memory and memory building.
