Resumo: The aim of present stud was evaluate the forage allowance in Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu pasture at finish of Nellore bulls receiving high supplementation and interaction with rate of weight gain in rearing phase. Were utilized 64 Nellore bulls with initial body weight of 386 ± 7.9kg and 18 month split in sixteen paddocks (experimental unit), supplemented with 2% of BW. The treatments were two rate of gain (0.76 and 1.07 kg/day) during growing phase split in high and low forage allowance. The herbage mass were 3370 to lower and 8470 kg for high forage allowance when started finish phase. The experimental period was 120 days. The carcass compositions were evaluated by reference abatement at initial and final of experiment. Average daily gain (ADG), carcass composition and ruminal parameters were evaluated. Were utilized 12 fistulated animals with 390kg of BW. The experimental design was blocks in factorial (2x2) and the data analyzed by proc MIXED SAS, 9.2 (SAS, 2008) with P<0.10 by t test. The average herbage mass were 6507 and 2711kg to allowance high and lower, respectively, resulting in 1.31 and 2.91 of forage allowance. Animals with lower performance during growing phase and finish at highest forage allowance achieved higher ADG 1.12 kg (P<0.10), no difference was found among other treatments with 0.91 kg/d of ADG. The supplement intake were affected by growing treatments (P<0.10) however, without effect on finish phase. The level of propionate was higher in lower forage allowance whilst acetate was highest in high forage allowance. The hot carcass weight was 270 and 295 kg when started finish phase for low and high performance. The yield gain was highest in animals that showed high performance that animals with lower performance during rearing phase
