Resumo: After observations and reports between prayer groups of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) in a provincial city in São Paulo state, it was found that some individuals said they had been touched by a power (CHAUÍ, 2000) more intensely. Such episodes, which started at 90's, reproduced a point of tension emerged by the clash between the rules of conduct established by RCC and uncontrollable experiences by those who had experienced. It could be observed the emergence of groups that started meetings - called prayer vigils in the hills - out of religious temple, a kind of control of demonstrations, in order to avoid estrangement with the institution site which were linked (or Parish Church). This research proposes to make an ethnography that aims to describe the prayer vigils in the hills, to understand who these people are that despite claiming be Catholics, live your own rituals outside the Church Established space. From the understanding that the sacred experience is part of the anthropological experience, is expected to contribute to the study of new forms of belief and experience the religious phenomena in contemporary times.
