This study evaluated the hepatic participation and the glucocorticoid effect on the inflammatory response in Nile tilapia challenged with Aeromonas hydrophila , submitted or not to by CCl4. Conducting this research, 130 Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus ) hepatotoxicity with average weight 150g, from the same spawning , were randomly distributed into 13 tanks with a capacity of 2500L of water each , in four treatments: NN = no CCl4 and without glucocorticoids, CN = with CCl4 and without glucocorticoids , NG = no CCl4 and glucocorticoid, CG = with CCl4 and glucocorticoids. A 13 ° tank was composed of fish not subjected to any manipulation to provide reference values for the study (PF). For all groups 10 animals were sampled. The administration of CCl4 was performed on coelomic cavity in a single dose of 0.5 mL. kg -1 and the CG CN groups, while dexamethasone was administered intramuscularly in the left dorso lateral region in the concentration of 0.2% at a dose of 2mg Kg-1 bw in NG and CG treatments. Both administrations were performed at the time of inoculation strain of A. hidrophila. In 6, 24 and 48 HPI (hours post inoculation) were harvested: the inflammatory exudate for quantification and evaluation of inflammatory cells, blood samples for hematological and biochemical evaluation; made somatic and histological assessment of the liver and spleen was made. As a result include liver disorder generated by CCl4. This led to several harmful changes in the mechanism of the inflammatory response in Nile tilapia as decreased protein synthesis and the formation of fatty liver degeneration, and with altered energy metabolism often presenting synergistic effect when combined with the immunosuppressive effect of dexamethasone, suggesting the occurrence of decreased production of coagulation factors, chemical mediators of inflammation and inhibition of cell membrane receptors |
