Resumo: | The sealing afforded by endodontic obturations using a dentin bonding agent with and without calcium hydroxide was compared to the sealing of a calcium hydroxide - based sealer (Sealer 26). The root canals of sixty extracted human teeth were prepared biomecanichally and filled by the lateral condensation technique with gutta-percha points and the sealer (Sealer 26) as the control group, or a dentin bonding agent with calcium hidroxide or dentin bonding agent without calcium hydroxide. The roots were placed into a 2% metlylene blue dye solution under vacuum for thirty minutes. After this period they were kept for 168h at 37ºC. The roots were sectioned longitudinally and the depth of dye penetration mensured linearly, in a steriomicroscope. The mean values were: 2,88mm for the the dentin bonding agent with calcium hydroxide group; 1,87mm for the dentin bonding agent group and 0.56 mm for the control group. The results showed that the control group leakage significanty less (p 0,05) than the other two groups, which exhibited no statistical difference between both of them |
