Resumo: | In this work, the objective was to develop an evaluative study on the implantation of Small Hydroelectric Plants - PCHs - in the Piquiri River Basin. Faced of environmental and development concerns, the following question arose: To what extent does the energy policy of SHPPs in the Rio Piquiri affect the right to sustainable regional development? The methodology used was an empirical field research with interviews, where the interviewees were qualified in three groups, being in the first group the People of the Community in General, Riverside of PCH of Cantú II. The second group is of PCH Employees. The third group is formed by public managers with the positions or functions of Secretaries of Environment and / or agriculture; president of rural unions and regional manager of IAP. It is concluded from this study that although the hydroelectric energy from PCHs is considered a renewable energy, it nevertheless contributes to the environmental impacts. Alternative sources of clean energy can be assessed according to Agenda 2030 and also the condition of financial compensation for the PCH territory, with royalties such as the large hydroelectric plants. It is a significant opportunity that contributes to Sustainable Development by providing a fundamental quality of life to every community involved. |
