Resumo: | Solid waste management has grown exponentially in recent years, making it difficult to manage and dispose of waste. It has become one of the major economic and environmental problems of today. In this sense, the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS) defined as a fundamental instrument for the management of solid waste selective collection, incentive to create cooperatives or other forms of association of recyclable and recyclable materials collectors, and the insertion of education environmental. In Brazil, the collection of recyclable materials is carried out mainly by the collectors, who are at the forefront of recycling, assigning to this class of workers the responsibility to act directly in the management of solid waste, diverting them from landfills, contributing to increase its useful life and reduce the demand for natural resources. Waste collectors are responsible for responding to the waste management needs of a company. Thus, in identifying and analyzing the actions developed in an Association of Environmental Recyclers, this research seeks to verify if it should be considered as a Sustainable Educational Space? (places capable of demonstrating viable alternatives to sustainability, carrying out joint actions for the benefit of the community, developing alternative projects and other activities with an educational approach). For this, the chosen methodology was based on the qualitative research, having as method the Case Study method carrying out bibliographic research, documentary and semistructured interviews that were interpreted from the discourse analysis on the insertion of the ideas of Environmental Education (EA) as a strategy to confront environmental problems, as a promoter of changes in habits, values and behaviors, inserting daily activities to mitigate environmental damage and preserve natural resources. The Mundonovenses Environmental Recyclers Association (ARAM) was chosen because it is a place with great potential for its implementation. With this, it can be concluded that although the tasters are aware of the actions developed by the ARAM with the associates, there is still a lack of improvement in educational (individual) and environmental (collective) development in their practices. |
