Resumo: | Higher Education in AgriculturalFamily succession presents a point of great importance for rural properties, since, during the succession process, the management of the property is transferred to a successor who may be a rural young man or woman, thus dealing with succession. generational. It is known that in most cases, the future of rural family establishments depends on the interest and factors that influence young rural people in staying on the property. The objective of this work is to recognize the causes that influence the permanence of Agricultural Sciences students in rural areas, establishing the relationship between this phenomenon and the processes of generational succession. To this end, three Higher Education Institutions located in Western Paraná were selected, offering courses in the area of Agricultural Sciences. The first part of the study refers to the documentary analysis of the Pedagogical Political Project - PPC of undergraduate courses, seeking to establish the relationship between the academics' intentions regarding their possible permanence on the rural property and the academy's actions on this topic. The data collection methodology was carried out by applying an electronic questionnaire, applied by the researcher in the selected institutions, for students in the 1st and 2nd period and for students in the 8th and 9th period. The questionnaires were prepared via Google Forms, subdivided into five axes, according to the objectives to be raised, consisting of 17 closed questions for freshmen and 20 questions for graduates, specifically aimed at academics who are children of rural producers, whether in the agricultural sector or livestock. The result of the first stage, which refers to the study of the PPC of the courses, noting that the PPCs of the courses studied include, whether in the Curricular Matrix, extension activities, projects or assistance to graduates, the rural succession theme, even Thus, there is a need to intensify actions aimed at issues of rural succession within the curriculum. To process the data, correlational descriptive statistics were used. After analyzing these, it can be observed that the students on the undergraduate courses studied are young people of both genders, with men prevailing. The vast majority combine working on the property with studies. Most of the families of these academics have already decided who will be their successor, but some are still discussing it. As for the intention, a significant number of young people intend, after completing their degree, to work on their parents' property, succeeding their work in the future. These academics claim to have received encouragement from family members and educational institutions to stay and work in rural areas, applying the knowledge obtained during training in activities and property management, participating in succession processes. It is therefore concluded that a degree in Agricultural Sciences has a significant positive influence on the decision to remain on the property, continuing the succession processes and thus strengthening family farming. Specific actions must be carried out by the academy and family, aiming to understand the situation of those who, even after training, decide not to remain, seeking other paths other than rural areas and thus impacting the succession of family properties. |
