Resumo: | This work aims to discuss the use of the Itaipu royalties in education networks, observing their quantitative and qualitative aspects in the educational field. The signing of the Itaipu Treaty in 1973, occurred through a political tensions from geopolitical concerns, in the context of the Cold War in the face of the national-developmental model during the civil-military dictatorship (1964-1985), in the context of the expansion of capitalism. For the formation of the water reservoir, it was necessary to flood a large area of the called municípios lindeiros, towns that border the Itaipu Laker, with Santa Helena and Itaipulândia being among the largest affected, losing a large part of their productive areas, thus, they are the largest takers of the royalties. Therefore, we seek to make an analysis of the investments made in the education of these towns, by the managers. The transfer made by the hydroelectric plant created possibilities, expectations and prospects for expansion and improvement of schools. Making an analyze of these municipalities means to study the regional and local historiography, in the comprehension of the totality. The construction of the Itaipu Binacional hydroelectric plant, the world's largest power generator, has brought about intense changes in the regional and national scenario. In addition to the bibliographical survey, we made visits at the Itaipu hydroelectric power plant, Ecomuseu, Itaipu administrative sector, in the Regional Itaipu Office in Santa Helena, Foz do Iguaçu City Hall, Foz do Iguaçu Municipal Library, Santa Helena Town Hall. In such documentation centers, we accessed documents, photos, Laws, books, informative flyers and newspapers, which contributed to the elaboration of this work. The financial transfers made by the Itaipu plant allowed new possibilities for expansion and improvements for public schools in the western region of Paraná. |
