The implantation of green parks in urban centers has an environmental appeal that represents the need of green areas for the preservation of the cities environment and for the recreation of its population. For this reason, this research seeks to organize technical and urbanistic criteria for the implementation of green parks in urban áreas, through the construction of a theoretical basis, specification of those technical and urbanistic criteria and proposition of the most appropriate park typology for the object os study. The technical criteria survey the soil, topography, vegetation and water bodies of the space where the park will be implanted, and the urban criteria evaluate the urban infrastructure, the road system, the population density, and the use and occupation zoning of the surrounding of those same areas. A research methodology was elaborated, so through bibliographic survey, field study and documentary analysis, the place reality is obtained, questing to evaluate the areas where a possibility of implanting a new urban green park is considered. In this case, the set of urban green areas in Marechal Cândido Rondon – PR. was used as the study object, however the methodology is not restricted to this location and can be applied to any área where an urban park will be implanted. The collected data analysis point out which is the best type of park to be implemented at the study object in question, and the final considerations point to reflections on the results and their impact on the search for a sustainable urbanism.
