Resumo: The present thesis defends that environmental education is a fundamental educational dimension for a rural sustainable development in countryside education. Only the rural space valuation allows the environmental conscience building in in rural areas. Into turning it efective, Environmental Education requires a privileged place in the Basic Education curriculum, which is responsibility from the municipalities, political power representative and the driver of public policies such as education, closest to the population. In this context, AMOP's Basic Curriculum represented an innovative experience in schooling over a region known for its agriculture, developing over municipalities flexibility and autonomy, the structure and organization of Environmental Education through its incorporation into the schools curriculum as a curricular component, a specific subject or a cross-cutting theme. This dimension of Environmental Education allows different forms of pedagogical implementation, over projects or specific teaching materials creation and innovation, such as “Hydrography and Environmental Education in Inclusive Practice” teaching material in e-book and video format and translation into sign language, to be used by teachers, exploring its potential as an inclusive and sustainable teaching resource.
