Resumo: This study aimed to evaluated the influence of temperature on the performance of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) in four counties in western Paraná - Assis Chateaubriand, Maripá, Rondon and Toledo - following the tilapia production model developed by the Institute of Paraná Technical Assistance and Rural Extension (EMATER). During two cycles between the years 2008 and 2009, five producers of each county allocated an earth pond for research. They allocated juveniles with approximately 25g for its creation to the termination phase. The water temperatures of the tanks was recorded with mercury thermometer. At the end of each cycle the animals were slaughtered and subjected to assessments of total length, standard length, total body mass, eviscerated mass, mass of the viscera and from these values the condition factor, specific growth rate and daily weight gain were calculated. During the study period the temperature of the water ranged from 20.66°C to 23.46°C during the first cycle and 24.48°C to 27.21°C in the second cycle. The cities with was experienced higher water temperatures showed the top zootechnical performance evaluated during the cycles. Thus showing the influence of temperature on the metabolic processes of the fishes
