The present research is situated in the framework of history of education and its purpose is to investigate the process deployment and implementation of historicalcritical pedagogy in the initial years of elementary school in Itaipulândia - Paraná. In it, we try to analyze the municipal educational trajectory articulating the social context with the main propositions of this pedagogical trend and the elaborated educational policies during the redemocratization of the Brazil. Based on documental and bibliographical analysis, we seek to discuss and understand the pedagogical proposal, its assumptions, characteristics and possibilities of the theoretical and practical referential. In addressing the specific conditions that focus on education, the school and the organization of the teaching work through the analysis of its historicaleducational trajectory, we intend to verify how the deployment and implementation of historical-critical pedagogy in the early years of elementary school in Itaipulândia occurred, examine the actions and achievements made, as well as understand the obstacles, the scope, limits and possibilities of this experience.
