Resumo: Despite still being a complex structural process, women have already advanced a lot in terms of their recognition in rural areas, resulting from a set of actions demanded by social movements, academic studies and the consequent creation of public policies for this class in specific. In this regard, the PRONAF Mulher credit line consists of a financing modality designed to meet the demands of rural women, the result of different actions that sought equality for this group. In this sense, the objective of this dissertation is to analyze how PRONAF Mulher rural credit can contribute to the autonomy of women in rural areas, identifying the interference of development mediators responsible for making this line of credit viable in the State of Paraná. Using an exploratory methodology, seven women who accessed PRONAF Mulher rural credit and ten agents who work in credit financing in the state of Paraná were interviewed. The results allow us to verify that, despite the absolute data on the number of PRONAF Mulher contracts in the State of Paraná being reduced in relation to other credit lines and other regions of Brazil, this does not mean that this credit line is not efficient and effective, as the interviews show that the women are satisfied and fulfilled working with the income that PRONAF Mulher provided for them, including having their credibility better assessed, as they present organization to execute the contract and financial organization to ensure payment of the credit. In short, the problem is not in the line, but in its effectiveness with the key agents, which are the financial institutions and the technical assistance agencies that work with them. For those who access it, the credit line fulfills its function, but unfortunately it is not reaching those who really need it. PRONAF Mulher is being underutilized and from this perspective, these agents agree that they act as consultants for the women who come to them to seek information about investing in their properties, but at the same time they recognize that they fail to publicize PRONAF Mulher and the inherent information to him, agreeing that this situation needs to be reversed, so they offer suggestions for different attractions for the line.
