Resumo: | This dissertation shows a case study of the cooperative Gran Lago, family-farming producers located in Vera Cruz West, PR and also, the importance of medicinal plants of ITAIPU Binational program for the cooperated members. Questionnaires were built from the manual of good agricultural practices elaborated by the Ministry of Agriculture Livestock and Supply (MAPA) and applied to producers of medicinal plants. Results showed that the implementation of technological projects, supported by public and private institutions, has contributed to enable the family farm. The diagnosis also pointed out limitations on preventive technology, processing, training, cultivation and marketing. Surveys with inactive cooperatives show that the warranty of merchantability is the main problem to be solved.
