We show the city of Foz do Iguaçu as it was constituted, suffering the changes so far. One thing is the appearance of the city that also firm up with the idea of modernity. Modernity that is linked to the conditions of industrial development in Brazil. The emergence of the Itaipu Dam, construction and commissioning give new dimensions to the city and society of Foz do Iguaçu. Now that the modern world is overcome by the Technological Revolution of the 80s of the last century, brings new situations with the development of scientific and technological knowledge. That, somehow, will arise with the installation and operation of university programs in the city of Foz do Iguaçu where they fulfill important role in forming citizens for a new society that is emerging in global level. The culmination of this process is the establishment and commissioning of the Federal University of Latin American Integration - UNILA that, within a new paradigm, seeks to work with the issue of interdisciplinary innovative courses to form the Latin American elite, both political and corporate.
