Resumo: | The application and use of information technologies in the various business areas in industrial processes or even personal use are of increasing scale, bringing also environmental and social concerns. Contributing to the reduction of these impacts is adopted by the Green Information Technology approach. Thus, this research aims to analyze the sustainable practices of green information technology in companies linked to the local productive arrangement Iguassu IT, which is an association of information and communication technology companies in the West of Paraná. The study is a descriptive and exploratory research, with the application of the model presented by Lunardi, Alves, and Salles (2014), which seeks to evaluate the degree of adoption of green information technology in organizations based on five dimensions: Socioenvironmental Awareness, Actions Sustainability, Environmental Expertise, IT Activity Monitoring and Environmental Guidance. The results showed that the organizations studied have knowledge about the applications of sustainability in the information technology sector as some of them already developing, but it is still possible to develop and evolve these aspects with clear sustainable development policies and the implementation of these activities in their strategies , thus enabling an increase in the environmental awareness of employees and improving the image of these companies vis-à-vis the market and their consumers, which also contributed to sales strategies for their products and services, with a focus on environmental sustainability. |
