Resumo: | The theme High Skills/Giftedness (HS/GN), although it has been in Brazil in official documents, laws and resolutions for a considerable time, is still permeated with misconceptions and prejudices on the part of the school community. The result in the invisibility of children and adolescents who present indicatives of HS/GN, and if not attended to in their specificities and in their development rights, or yet, are stigmatized through other diagnostics which could cause personal and pedagogical prejudice. The Historical Cultural Theory-HCT that underlies this research, assumes that everyone should have the right to fully develop their potential, with or without HS/GN. Thus, the subject who presents HS/GN, needs opportunities to develop and improve in this condition. The research aimed to deepen the historical and pedagogical conditions of specialized educational services in multifunctional resource rooms – MRS for HS/GN of the Regional Education Center of Cascavel-PR. Yet, it was intended to give visibility to the work currently offered by the Resource Rooms for HS/GN, highlighting the process of identifying students and the difficulties and the challenges faced by professionals, parents and the students themselves, also as the advances of SEE in REC Cascavel. For this study, a field research was carried out, applying questionnaires and interviews with identified directors, teachers, parents and students that participate or have participated in the MRS for HS/GN, with the purpose of investigating the historical path and the current reality of this service, that is, what are the conditions faced in view of the current public policies. As a result it was found that the identification and expansion of the provision of specialized educational assistance faces difficulties on issues such as the lack of theoretical basis on the part of the teachers to enable them to identify the HS/GN, the precariousness in the training and hiring of professionals who work, which does not allow continuity of work, and the lack of public investment on MRS. Despite all these difficulties, the work developed with the students presented significant results, leveraged by the efforts of professionals working in the area, the involvement of researchers with the theme of HS/GN and the approximation between basic education and the public university. It is concluded that it is necessary to raise the visibility of these subjects, and provoke in the educational environment discussions and incentives for new research on the theme and the importance of specialized educational assistance to this public. |
