Resumo: | The dairy chain has undergone significant changes since the 1990s with the opening of the economy, which have changed the production mode and the way transactions occur in this environment. In this sense, the problem to which the study seeks answers is about the reasons that lead producers to make decisions, i.e., what factors determine the choice of the dairy by the producer? In order to accomplish such approach, the study aims to analyze the governance structure between milk producers and dairies to understand how the link between the rural producer and the processing industries is established. To achieve the general objective, we seek to diagnose the socioeconomic environment of milk producers; to discuss the forms of governance structure established between producers and their respective dairies; and to analyze the factors involved in the decision making process of dairy producer's choice. The field of analysis of the research is the Western Paraná region, which has at least 28 dairies that have 6,725 registered producers by June 2020, however, given the sample, 96 questionnaires were applied according to the representativeness of each dairy. The research was qualitative in nature. The study presented as the main result that the price has great influence on the continuity of relationships, however, this is not guaranteed through pre-established contracts for many of the cases addressed. |
