Resumo: | This dissertation is the result of the research developed in the Stricto Sensu Post-Graduation Program in Social Service (Master level) of the Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná and presents the results of an investigation that had the objective of analyzing whether after access to the University, the student assistance programs have been able to guarantee the permanence and the completion of course the academics of the Universidade Federal da Fronteira Sul - Campus Realeza. The research is characterized as a case study and uses bibliographic and documentary research as techniques. Internal documents of the University were analyzed, such as reports, edicts and school histories. The documentation of the universe of participants in the assistance programs was researched, totaling 572 (five hundred and seventy-two) students who were included in the socio-economic aid programs between 2010 and 2016. The academic career on the course and their participation in the programs were analyzed and the records made in the spreadsheet. Statistical analysis allowed data to be crossed and graphs and reports were prepared. The results showed that the profile of the assisted students is composed mainly of women, 59.8% of the total of participants are young, having between 21 and 25 years old at the time of the research; 91.4% come from the Southern Region, of which 78.5% are from Paraná state; And 92.5% entered the university through ENEM. Of the total number of students enrolled in the programs, 1.6% locked registration; 1.7% did a course transfer on campus; 26% graduated, 22% retired from the institution and 48.6% remained active, of which 56% were retained. Finally, the investigation showed that a large part of the students remain in the institution. If we add the indices of permanence and completion of course, we can observe that the results have been positive. However, the retention rate is high, which leads to the conclusion that the objectives of the PNAES and the UFFS Socioeconomic Aid Program have been partially achieved. The results allow us to infer that the institution should focus more actively on the issues related to teaching and learning processes, as well as other demands and difficulties presented by the student body that could impair their performance and the quality of the formation process. |
