Resumo: To meet standard standards and sustainable policies, oilseeds such as safflower and soybeans are being researched for diesel-biodiesel blends. Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) is an oilseed appreciated for its high quality and high oil yield. The main advantages in its use as biodiesel are the reduction of the emission of pollutants into the atmosphere and also a better lubricity of the diesel cycle propellant. When planting, your crop can grow in arid and dry regions in various parts of the world. This study aimed to evaluate how obtained and the performance of an engine generator under mixtures of safflower biodiesel and commercial biodiesel. Blends of safflower biodiesel and commercial biodiesel (11, 15, 30 and 100%) in different resistive power loads (500, 1000, 2000 and 3000 W) were applied to the generator engine to assess the effect on performance and return. Evaluation of gas losses and fuel efficiency, with the generator set of the Branco model BD 4000, consumption dissipation and transfer of CO, CO2, NOx, SO2 and temperature, when applied to biodiesel. Blends with 15% safflower biodiesel and 85% S10 diesel, reduced fuel consumption and a good overall performance.
