Resumo: The present work deals with the case study of wind farm Windmills, which comprises an area of approximately 60,000 hectares, in semi-arid baiano, with potential for generation licensee of 1,786 MW. Mostly, the information was obtained by means of the Environmental Impact Report (RIMA) performed for the licensing of the Project. The thesis aimed to discuss the environmental impacts related to the project and their perspective of socioeconomic development before the scenario found in the region. For both was a description of the characteristics of the project providing information about the physical, biotic, and socioeconomic status that make up the region of influence of the project. The paper highlights considerations about environmental impacts related, suggesting effects and causes of wind project Windmills in the region. Before the impacts discussed if notes that the relationship between the physical-biotic-socioeconomic versus wind farm converges to a relationship that requires a lot of attention and knowledge, because once the cumulative effect, with the deployment of all wind turbines, accompanied by actions without planning, may be irreparable.
