Resumo: |
In a globalized and highly competitive market, mastering communication and language skills ensures professional success and quality of life. The English language as an instrument and requirement for the Tourism course differentiates it from other sciences, as it prepares its students to meet the demands generated in this market. Ounce gaps are identified that make this process unfeasible, it is necessary to investigate the characteristics and to study the scenarios for adequacy and correction of this phenomenon. In this context, this work aims to make an empirical study about the dialectical relationship between the acquisition of English by the students and graduates of the tourism course with the context of the job market in the city of Salvador. The methodological strategy adopted was inductive/qualitative and was divided in two distinct stages: theoretical approach and empirical study. As it was a case study, we defined the target group was made that includes students and ex students from UNEB in the Tourism Course in Salvador. The questionnaires applied, as a verification tool, investigated variants related to the acquisition of English as a factor of inclusion and insertion in the tourism work market, which allowed us to know, through the results, the level of relationship between the domain of this foreign language and the work market of tourism professionals. |
