Resumo: The network performance monitoring infrastructures have been adopting the service oriented architecture (SOA) standard with the intention of offering measurement services in multiple administrative domains. To enjoy all the benefits of SOA it is also necessary to use the three components of this architecture, in other words, the service provider, the consumer and the publish and discovery technology to solve the problem of services search and access. In this way there is currently a strong trend towards the use of Web Services as a technology for deployment of services in network monitoring infrastructures. And this is where this work is focused, in other words, it proposes a Publish and Discovery Service to the network monitoring Web Services. Before of this proposal it was necessary to verify the standards and technologies available that could make possible the construction of the proposed service. Therefore we present the service oriented architectures, emphasizing the publication and discovery. It is also shown some standards that define services, publishing and discovery as UDDI and ebXML, and the technologies for development and deployment of SOA. The UDDI is a key component for a good use of Web services, because it creates standard interfaces that enables the applications quickly, easily and dynamically locate Web Services on the Internet. This work uses in its proposal this standard as the basis of the service publication and discovery and incorporates the UDDI features in the network monitoring Web services characteristics and the monitoring infrastructure characteristics. Thus, characteristics such as: classifications, types, features and so on, can be used as taxonomy to facilitate interaction with the Discovery and Publication Service proposed. Researching of all the features that involve the monitoring infrastructure in relation to the publication and discovery of services and verifying the peculiarities that involving the Web Services Web, it was possible to define, develop and test a service for Publishing and Discovery of network monitoring Web Services. This service is part of the of the piPEs-BR/GFD infrastructure and can be used by any application that want discover or publish the piPEs-BR/GFD Web Services.
