Resumo: |
This paper aims at identifying the current situation of the management of technological resources by DETEN QUÍMICA a petrochemical company located in the Complex of Camaçari, state of Bahia, Brazil. DETEN s industrial site produces a petrochemical product and its sulfonated derivative material, which is a surfactant used to make synthetic detergents. The evaluation of the features of DETEN s management of technological resources was made by comparing them with those of a heuristic model developed by aunthor of this paper. It proposes a five-dimension structure, namely: technological strategy; external sources of technology supply; internal development of technological knowledge; innovation practices for improving products and process; and indices of technological performance. The proposed model has an optimization purpose and has been built considering several ideas and concepts of authors of the reviewed literature on the subject. For the development of this paper, a case study approach was adopted. The devised tool for the measurement of variables that give shape to the technology management was a thirty-topic questionnaire. It was answered by fifty professionals all strongly engaged in activities relative to technological innovations. The obtained results from this case study show based on the perception of the consulted professionals that the kind of technological management used in the company have several matching points with those of the proposed model by the author of this thesis. For those cases that deviations from the model were observed, possible causes (model uncertainties among others), were investigated and some recommendations were made to get the current and actual management practices closer to those pointed out by this paper. This, of course, assumes that the model prescriptions are really effective for the improvement of the performance of technological management of the company studied. |
