Resumo: This research had as general objective to analyze how the organizational culture of the IFBA has impacted on the implementation of the new management model in its Pro-Rectory of Administration and Planning, from 2010 to 2016. As for the principles that underpinned this research work, Studied and incorporated the concepts of public administration and its management models in Brazil (patrimonialist, bureaucratic and managerial), being more relevant the aspects related to the managerial model, as well as the concepts brought by organizational culture theorists. As for the methodology used, official, informative, periodical documents, interview with the Rector and the NMG Coordinator were used as research sources, plus the results obtained through the application of a questionnaire to the servers. For the development of this work of research the descriptive method was used, which seeks to show the reason of things based on the results obtained in the researches. As for the development of the research, this took place in two stages, one of qualitative and the other of quantitative character. As for documentary analysis and interviews, the technique used was content analysis. It should be noted that the data collection period was from 2010 to 2016. The analysis of the results showed that top management adopted a culture model based on the principles brought by the managerial model, as well as based on the cultural characteristics of competence, performance, Efficiency, efficacy, efficiency, ethics, formalism, integration, and quality, these being worked on the instruments produced throughout the implementation process of its new management model. According to the data collected and in relation to the servers, they were able to interpret the assumptions contained in the artifacts produced by the NMG, signaling perceived difficulties in the concepts of performance, as well as balanced perception, between disagree and agree, in the concepts related to ethics and integration . This work has contributed as: (1) to provide knowledge of the theoretical reference of some authors on organizational culture; (2) to identify, on the basis of scientific criteria, the cultural characteristics necessary for the implementation of the NMG; (3) to identify the presence of the cultural characteristics necessary for the implementation of the NMG in the sources produced by the top management, and (4) to identify the perception of the IFBA's servers in the Departments of Administration and Pro-Rectory of Administration and Planning, Cultural characteristics necessary for the implementation of the NMG.
