The region called Recôncavo Baiano remains unknowing despite its significant history in the brazilian economics. Its developing and decadence process is an important issue to research and understanding the capitalism in Bahia's economy. This study shows the Recôncavo as a place build on a uniqueness and identity that cross the regulary territorial division. Its grow and crises means how an experience of global investiment represents local changes and how the riches guides their investments to disagree the natural way of capital. The puzzled relations about sugar, tabaco and earlier industry are connect to real aspects that lead the region to the recession and decadence. Later, the region rises on the sholder of oil industry, research centers e colleges, leaving the sugarcane as a extremely concentrated business. The changeover under construction at the Recôncavo Baiano will allow its reborn in the economics scene of Bahia state, finaly over new support.
