The present dissertation intends to analyze the relations between the applied tourist logic in the region where if it locates the town of Port de Sauípe, in the city of Entre Rios-BA, and the traditional community of handcrafts of Port de Sauípe, in special the entailed people to the Associação de Artesãos de Porto de Sauípe. This town was chosen by its insertion in a space context of proximity with the Tourist Complex Costa do Sauípe. To accomplish this objective a qualitative research was realized with visits to field for making interviews with the artisans, expert socio-ambient researchers, as well a secondary documents utilization. Like this, we structured this dissertation in five chapters, that discuss concepts about tourism and the sustainable development applied Porto de Sauípe town and get back the history of the socioeconomic formation of the North Coast of Bahia and the tourist logic that it was implanted in the area, as well as we analyzed the relationship among the tourism and sustainability that it was applied in the municipal district of Entre Rios. Finally, we verified that the artisans of Porto de Sauípe town, a community that have culture and secular traditional roots, are adapting to the new tourist logic with a the creation of a partner association.
