Resumo: |
In recent years, the pace of real estate development transformed the architectural design in a product without identity, having as main objective the rate of return of projects. Today, this scenario is starting to change, as manufacturers and consumers seek to generate less waste, use less aggressive raw materials and offer products and services that consume less resources during their lifespan, such as reducing water and energy consumption. This change has been driven by legal obligations and economic and competitive gains. In the city of Salvador there are few architectural firms that develop projects with sustainable guidelines and aimed at reducing energy consumption. This lack of interest is due, in most cases, by economic unfeasibility or lack of knowledge on the use of renewable energy as architectural solutions, with exception of large projects where the cost for the implementation of sustainable systems is more viable. The continuous increase of cost and power consumption in the country, has led government agencies to encourage the development of creative solutions for mass application, involving sustainable projects. Demand for environmental comfort with energy conservation is increasingly evident in the city of Salvador, where there is an abundance of renewable energy resources. Thus, new technologies and architectural techniques that are affordable and ideal for the climate of the city of Salvador were gathered and analyzed in this dissertation. In addition, the laws and regulations that encourage the use of clean energy as a sustainable alternative were identified. Legislation has an important role in promoting measures of environmental comfort in a city. It is possible to obtain economic gains when using sustainable projects in buildings where energy savings can be achieved by heat protection system, using green roofs and vertical gardens, or in special situations with the use of wind generators and photovoltaic cells on buildings. Simulations were performed in the city of Salvador where the possibilities of using these solutions to minimize energy consumption were examined. |
