This thesis has as theme the Cooperativism as Citizenship promoter. The problem investigated and analyzed, aimed at answering the question: How far does the CANORE Cooperative (Cooperativa dos Agentes Ambientais Nova República) promote citizenship for its members? The objective of the research is to evaluate the extent to which CANORE promotes citizenship in its members and additionally discuss the concept of citizenship from the characterization of cooperation, respect, solidarity and autonomy; analyze Cooperativism as citizenship promoter and evaluate the history of CANORE and the result of their actions, regarding the promotion of citizenship in its members. The employed method of approach was the phenomenological, the approach was the case study, the construct is based on phenomenological and semi-structured interviews, conversations and depositions, photographic records and participant observation. The collected data were analyzed according to the summarization technique. The results are presented as tables, photographic records and transcripts of the perception of members, volunteer students and teachers involved with the cooperative. The main results deal from the historical evolution of the cooperative to the characteristics of the work process of cooperation, respect, solidarity and autonomy. It is noteworthy that, despite an increase in citizen awareness demonstrated by specific attitudes of members, the initial lack of infrastructure, the management model implemented, the life history and behavioral profile of these hindered the achievement of consistent positive results with the benefits offered by the cooperatives, especially the promotion of citizenship. |
