Resumo: |
The olericultura refers to applied science, as well as to the study of agrotechnology for the production of oleraceous crops. Popularly, vegetables or their usable part are called, improperly, vegetables and veggies. The main characteristic of the exploitation of vegetables is based on the work with cultures of short cycle, intensive cultural treatment in small areas with large. The oleraceous producer presents conditions of life and work surrounded by myths and associations with poverty, ignorance, low quality of life and little access to information. Their health conditions are constantly evidenced and based on the low assistance, caused by the territorial dimensions and difficult access, housing and food conditions and the ergonomics of the work performed. In this context, this paper aims to present data and evidence on the health conditions of this worker. The study began by means of a comprehensive bibliographical research that dealt with several themes of the process of the production and distribution of the vegetables, as well as of the health conditions and socioeconomic profile of the producer. Second, field research was carried out through two structured questionnaires, applied locally from January to December 2016, to a representative group of 74 producers nominated by EMATER-MG and the local CEASAS, from the cities of Pouso Alegre, Alfenas, Serrania, Areado and Campos Gerais, as well as their interception, in free fairs, cities located in the south of the state of Minas Gerais. The data collected were analyzed using multivariate statistics using the principal components technique, which are linear combinations of p correlated variables. With the data obtained, it was concluded that despite the prevalence of factors favorable to good health of the rural worker producing vegetables, the presence of pain and overweight, are factors that need attention, aiming at multifactorial health, as advocated by the world health organization. The correlation between vitality and pain shows the need for attention to ergonomics in the work performed by these producers, promoting a longevity in their routine actions and, consequently, a higher quality of life. Although active, the analyzed group is overweight, a condition treated with one of the pillars to decrease health levels. |
