Resumo: This work considers a study on the insertion of the deaf people in the work market, embracing public policies, organizational practices adopted by public and private law institutions, and life stories of deaf people who are included in the productive environment. For the considered purpose, the validation of the research was surveyed by the method of the triangulation of methods, beginning with the comprehension that this approach considers the participation and the perceptions of individuals involved in the creation and implantation of social programs, considering the relationships and the representations as a fundamental part of the successes and limitations of the actions carried out in various micro and macro realities. Thus, it is argued that such method allows the combination and interweaving of multiple points of view that follow the inquiry work, enabling critical, intersubjective interaction and comparison. For this, there were three studies, the first one with the purpose to analyze the relevance of institutional actions, aimed at professional qualification and routing of the deaf person. From interviews with those responsible for that segment, it we obtained data which provided subsidies to delimit the effectiveness the activities adopted for the inclusion of the deaf person in the labor market. The second study was restricted to the purpose of identifying the conception of the employers on the deaf person, his/her work and insertion in the workforce. In this stage, also, we adopted an interview with those responsible for human resources or related areas of five companies in Rio De Janeiro, contractors of deaf people. The third study focused on the life stories of deaf people included in the means of production. At this stage of the research, we sought, through testimony, to understand the process of professional insertion and their trajectories between their educational life and work. The revelations of the research had been presented in three stages, from the triangle architected and analyzed during the investigation process. This triangular division had as convergence point the work and its dimensions. It had been disclosed a total of four categories, called as follows: Instrumental Perversity: Silent marks of the Productive Bodies; “Infernality” Excluding: Foreigners in their Own Country; Political Inefficiency: The Inclusion that Excludes and Cynical Frustration: Quixotes, Sanchos and Pilates in the World of Work. This study revealed that, in relation to public policies and institutional actions, we may consider the development of more effective policies aimed at universal accessibility in the workplace and in education. These in turn should promote complementary actions that give the motivations so that the deaf person can advance autonomously and independently. Regarding organizational practices, it was revealed that these, many times, are characterized by the “pejorativity”, based on paternalism and socially illusory condescension, where deaf contracted are placed in subordinate and humiliating positions, not valuing the areas in which they possess talent and better skills. Finally, in relation to the deaf person, it was evidenced that the barriers of the prejudice and discrimination in society reaffirm that the struggle for the social inclusion is experienced in daily life and, over all, in the work environment. Data analysis confronted the material collected in the empirical field with the theoretical contents raised by the bibliographical revision, was organized in three axis: the first dealt with the human relation with work; the conception of society and deficiency, covering, also, aspects such as limitations, stigma, culture and identity. The second axis dealt with the conceptions: public policy and deficiency; legislation and deafness; and actions for guidance and qualification of the deaf individual. As for the third axis, it has sought to address the deaf person and the labor market, focusing on the theme of employability and deafness; and the professional qualification of the deaf person.
