Resumo: This research , considering aspects such as History , Literature and Culture in Brazil , aims to examine how through five centuries of fighting , alliances and tensions , developed a "Brazilian Language " from the Portuguese and their evolution in national territory by the interaction with the indigenous languages with native African and the rest of the immigrants who arrived here. In the categories of analysis history of the Brazilian people , the formation of their identity and an expression of national language , the text is displayed in parts , according to the succession of historical events , from Anchieta , the " Nheengatu " Reforms pombaline until the last spelling reform . In the literary context , we emphasize the issue of " defense of national language " by our writers , with references as José de Alencar , in Romanticism and with Mário de Andrade and Guimarães Rosa , in Modernism . It is also a reflection on how this " language " practiced for over two hundred-one million people , up verbalizes speech of our social classes , the texts in our literature and songs of our musicians , leading to the world characteristics that differ from European Portuguese and Lusophone nations overseas the other.
