Step 1 took place through the online application of a questionnaire with patients who had undergone intestinal ostomies and which was possible to contact by phone. Step 2 followed a data form, and collected them from the medical records of patients undergoing the procedure in question and readmitted within 30 days after discharge. The analyzes of the descriptive variables were calculated using the SPSS® software version 22.0. And the qualitative data were analyzed using the Thematic Content Analysis, proposed by Bardin (2016). Results. As a result, we present 2 articles submitted to journals. The readmission rate after making intestinal ostomies is high (39.13%). The main intrinsic and extrinsic factors that influence this condition include low education (39.13%), low income (47.8%), negative feelings and low orientation during hospitalization, in which only 3 (7.5%) of the medical records there were records of orientations.
