Resumo: lt's aimed the study of the fundamental photoviscoplastic behavior of mixtures of polyester resin through characterizing tests. This comes from the fact that the experimental techniques of stress/strain analysis are out of date regarding behavior models. Furthermore, the refinement of materiais and methods for use in viscoplastic modeling is an actual technological need. So, in this thesis work it has been performed a systematic series of mechanical and optical tests on photoviscoplastic material test samples, under several strain rates and several temperatures. In the optic tests, it has been obtained the levei of isochromatic fringe formation and their devel-opment. In the mechanical tests, it has been obtained curves relating stress, strain, time rate of strain, time and temperature. It has been used specified proportions of rigid/flexible polyester resin. The númerical parameters from regressions on the experimental data characterize the mechanical behavior, allowing the determination of númerical equations which foresee the response of the material to certain solicitations. The model enables the planning of experiments where the viscoplastic behavior of other materiais may be studied through experimental simula-tion. Finally, the extensive methodological and experimental study performed on the characterization and equationing of the behavior of such materiais form a theoretical fundament and a data basisfor future photoviscoplastic numerical-experimental studies and modeling.
