Resumo: The story of how the environment has been outlined/demonstrate how appropriate it is configured in different modes of production and social formations, the relationship between man and environment. This relationship/ownership, sometimes occurs in a contradictory way, whose main characteristic is the degradation of natural resources. Nevertheless, there is also the construction of a grammar of fundamental knowledge and practices historically woven, and, in one form or another, are appropriate pedagogical practice Environmental Education - EA. Observing these questions, the objective of this research is to understand how the issue is being worked cross Environmental Education in public schools in São Gabriel do Oeste (MS), focusing on two institutions: the School District Pingo de Gente and Nilma Glória Gerace Gazineu, and the series the 6th grade, 6th grade B, 9th grade A and 9th grade B of elementary school. A questionnaire was administered to students and other educators with questions about EA worked within the content of the education program and curriculum of these schools. We discuss how the concepts have been building and practices of educators and students.
