Resumo: | Cultural actions, with their different scenarios, characteristics and areas, are a contemporary phenomenon on the rise. They have developed new aspects related to the expression of cultural identities, sociability and lifestyles. When they happen in cities, they develop a new relationship between the subject and the urban space; the first starts to reread the reality of the space based on the approach of the cultural activity presented, and the second starts to be recreated by a relationship hitherto unthinkable. Based on this premise, this paper seeks to study the project “Corredor Cultural de Franca/SP” (CCF), with its political, social, citizen, symbolic, organizational, economic and urban particularities, realizing its effects in this city and its society, through a sensitive look “up close and inside” (MAGNANI, 2002). Does the project, active since 2012, contribute to “regenerate the city through culture” (NUNES, 2019), between activism and resistance? To answer the question, a path is traced in which, initially, artistic experiments in public spaces in the 1960s and 1970s are studied and, later, the relationship between urban cultural actions and the contemporary city. Along with this, we cover an overview of the political-social-cultural scenario of the city of Franca, relating it to the characteristics and specificities of the CCF project, to then seek to understand the meanings, memories, corpographies (JACQUES, 2008) that our object of study produces, as well as we intend to discover if there are impacts and innovations in the city and in the society. The research has the character of empirical investigation of contemporary phenomena, is based on a qualitative approach and combines direct observation of an ethnographic character with a contemporary ethnography - which needs to be adaptive (HINE, apud PINK et al. 2016) and which uses image analysis -, together with interviews and document analysis. It is inserted in the concentration area “Urban culture in the contemporary built situation”. |
