Resumo: | The distribution of surface materials on the slopes of Cerrado presents intrinsic particularities, which are associated with topographic positioning, the shapes of slopes and runoff. All these aspects are also pertinent to the climatic seasonality, typical of this environment. Physical and chemical attributes of surface materials relate strongly to the geomorphological characteristics, influenced on their spatial variability, playing an important role in the quality of these ecosystems. The basin is located in Uberlândia in the southeast region of the Triângulo Mineiro. Therefore, two approaches were taking into consideration: the river basin and a small slop as spatial area, examining their geomorphological, physical and chemical attributes. The methodology was based on the evaluation of physical and chemical attributes and on the mapping of some parameters. It was analysed: texture, apparent density, porosity, organic matter content, CTC, V%, H+Al, pH, K+, hipsometry, declivity, land use and vegetation cover and also three maps indicating the percentages of clay, silt and sand in order to design the exploratory map and peripheral ones of the river basin as well as the slope under cerrado in recovery stage. Approximately 80% of the basin is occupied by agriculture and human activities. Likewise, the other evaluated factors also contributed to the reflection on the surface materials-landscape dynamics, which has an influence on the landscape. The prognostic analysis correlated the physical and chemical features subjectively as it is a study based on probabilities, taking into account the knowledge available in national literature on each attribute. The analysis of surface materials along with the mapped attributes provide for researches important information endowed with great geographical value, concerned with geomorphology as well as physical studies for environmental planning and management. |
