Parâmetros hematológicos e perfil sérico dos hormônios tireoidianos em vacas mestiças no pós-parto

Resumo: The hematological parameters are good indicators to evaluate the health of the animal and useful in the identification of possible disorders. Cows in the postpartum period undergo physiological stress that can cause significant changes in these parameters reflecting on the health and productivity of the animal. The objective of this study was to investigate changes in hematological parameters in lactating crossbred in the first week and at 60 days postpartum (PPD). In the 110 freshly crossbred cows studied two 5 mL blood samples were collected: the first collection in the first week and the second at 60 DPP. The blood count were processed in automatic veterinary hematology analyzer pocH - 100iV. Differential count of leukocytes was performed on a blood smear stained by the method of May Grunwald Giemsa. In each blood smear 100 leukocytes were classified according to their morphological and dyeing characteristics. The determination of the plasma levels protein (PTP) was made by the biuret method after centrifugation of the blood samples. Comparing the values of hematological parameters of the animals between the two periods studied significant differences (p<0,05) were observed in the values of red blood cells, hemoglobin, globular volume, 25 53 54 55 56 57 58 59 60 61 62 63 64 65 66 67 68 69 70 71 72 73 74 75 76 77 mean corpuscular volume, band neutrophils, eosinophils, monocytes and plasma proteins. Among the main changes observed in the erythrogram anemia in 14,5% of cows at 60DPP frequency is significantly higher than that observed in the first week postpartum (p<0,05). In the leukogram in the first week postpartum was observed leukocytosis in 38,7% of the cows, neutrophilia in 42,3%, neutrophil nuclear shift to the left in 79,3%, monocytosis in 23,4%, changes significantly higher than those observed in cows at 60 DPP (p<0,05). It was observed a significantly higher frequency (p<0,05) of cows with eosinophilia at 60 DPP (p<0,05). Although hyperproteinemia was a finding with higher frequency in the first week postpartum; 81,1% of cows, it was statistically higher (p<0,05) at 60 DPP; 91,8% of cows. Based on the results observed, it was concluded that the postpartum period (first week and 60 days postpartum) exerts significant influence on several hematological parameters of crossbred cows.
