The main motivation of this research proposal is to think the concept of culture in Fredric Jameson‟s work, trying to correlate it with the Zeitgeist and the central paradigm of Cultural Studies to understand cultural practices in their context of production and, thus, and intervene in society. Also try to understand how the author analyzes with regard to overcoming the binomial mass culture/ high culture, and if this really is demonstrated in the analyzes outlined by Jameson, as a reaction to reading that transcends orthodox Marxist: infrastructure and superstructure. In short, this project is directed by the understanding of cultural forms in postmodernity, remember that this was, in thought of Jameson, the cultural logic of late capitalism. From this movement, we aim view in the critical of one of the most controversial essays of the author, the functions of postmodern metanarrative to think historiography, especially the Cultural History´s issue.
