This research seeks an anti-colonialist of categories and landscape, aiming to identify the colonizing elements present in geography textbooks and thus create new perspectives for understanding the geographic space, always starting from the discourse of the reality experienced in everyday life by students from different social realities. Thus, the chapter presents a historical reading of the textbook in Brazil, from its first beginning in the imperial period, to the present day with the National Policy on Books and Teaching Material in the second chapter, a methodological reading of the categories of place and landscape, in the most diverse currents of geographical thought; and finally in the third chapter, the analysis from the perspective of the chosen textbooks, from the main publishers in the country in the field of didactic material.
