Resumo: This work takes as a subject the approach of the linguistic variation in Portuguese language classes through comics. We start from the hypothesis that comic books can help the teacher to work the question of linguistic variation as something natural, inherent to the dynamicity of the language and that, therefore, there is no better linguistic variety than another, but there is a need for language adaptation communication situation. Our main objective was the elaboration of an activity book, with a version for the teacher and another for the student, that allows the reflection on the phenomenon of linguistic variation in the classroom through the comics. These notebooks will be offered to teachers and students of municipal public schools. The chosen method was an action-research and the work was divided into three stages: bibliographic research, development and application of the intervention proposal, description and analysis of the data. The bibliographical research provided the theoretical contribution necessary for the elaboration of the questionnaire and workshops that compose the intervention proposal and counted on the studies of several authors, among them Labov (2012), Bagno (2007, 2008), Mollica (2004) and Preti (1982, 2006), for the approach of linguistic variation; Antunes (2012), Biderman (1978, 1984, 1996) and Vilela (1997) for the lexical approach and lexical variation; Ramos (2009, 2010, 2018) and Vergueiro (2009, 2018) for the approach about the genre comic and its use in the educational area. After the quantitative analysis of the data obtained, we could confirm the hypothesis that the comics contribute to the work with the linguistic variation in the classes of Portuguese language, since they are used of several varieties of the language in order to compose the profile of the personages of the histories , however, the idea of a "standard" to follow is still very much ingrained, which is evidenced both by the comics currently available on the market and by the comics produced by the participants of this research in one of the workshops carried out.
