Resumo: | The purpose of this dissertation is to understand the management practices in public schools and the relationships with their stakeholders. The structure of the work is based mostly on the literature review of Stakeholder Theory and Management Practices (CHANLAT, 1996). A field research is carried out that contextualizes the reality of the analyzed schools and offers suggestions for future research. The methodology involves case studies in state schools of a city in the interior of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Content analysis is performed from categories that involve school management practices and relationships with stakeholders. The dissertation presents the issues of school management practices and the relationship with its stakeholders. Based on the overview, studies in this area are carried out in the area of management and education. In order to give meaning to current research, the authors have developed a structure that /address the issue of management practices in conjunction with the topic of interest group relationships, in the context of the schools analyzed. This dissertation is part of the project “Stakeholders Theory and its contributions to the Public School Management Practices”. It is discussed the approaches under the aspect of the management of public elementary schools. The research does a triangulation of data. Two schools were investigated through multiple study method using three data sources: document analysis, observation and interviews. As results, perceptions of managers and other stakeholders, and prescribed and described management practices of public schools are presented. |
