Resumo: This paper presents the application of Machine-to-Machine communication into a system of process control. The project was implemented in a system that consists of didactic plants of temperature, flow and level control. These plants were isolated, communicating via RS-232 with a workstation each, dedicated to monitoring and control. A communication interface between the RS-232 standard and the ZigBee wireless standard was developed, in order to add mobility and expansibility to the system. With wireless communication, it was possible to relocate the workstation and to exchange information among plants. Using star topology, the system was networked, with a single workstation monitoring and controlling all plants. Com-munications occurred automatically through a software, which functions includes network configuration, sending and receiving data, variable storage and logic control. Therefore, con-trol and monitoring of all plants at a single point was made possible.
